in the course of my arguments with him i found he couldn't count to 3 (the number of hr25 sponsors and cosponsors in the house ways and means committee.
being he couldn't count it didn't surprise me when i found out he couldn't multiply. claimed the fairtax would collect $2 or $3 trillion from taxing itself, i had to show him 23% of 2008 federal spending $2.9 trillion is about $0.66
he also said government taxing itself is the same as writing yourself a check. i in turn pointed out how every one in business writes them selfs a check. not to mention that moving money into ones savings is akin to writing oneself a check.
